Terms of use

Last updated October 29, 2026. These terms cover the ClassAdd Chrome extension and this website.

What ClassAdd is

ClassAdd is a Chrome extension that helps a USC student plan classes, watch for open seats, and, if the student turns on Auto mode, register or swap sections in the student's own WebReg session. It is an independent project by a USC student. It isn't made, endorsed, or run by USC.

You stay in charge of your registration

  • Auto mode is off until you turn it on and confirm. You can switch it off, pause, or remove the extension at any time.
  • When Auto is on, ClassAdd acts only in your own signed-in WebReg session, and only on the sections in your plan. You are responsible for your plan, for the classes you mark as registered, and for your registration.
  • WebReg registers your whole cart in one checkout. If one class can't be registered, the checkout fails. ClassAdd tries to put your cart back the way it was and emails you the reason, but it can't see prerequisites, holds, or unit limits in advance.

No guarantee

ClassAdd is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. It does not guarantee that you will get a seat, that an alert will arrive on time, or that it will keep working: it needs Chrome open, your computer awake, your WebReg session signed in, and USC's and Google's services available. USC can change WebReg at any time, which can break ClassAdd. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for a missed seat, an unwanted drop, or any other loss that comes from using ClassAdd.

Using it fairly

  • Use ClassAdd only with your own USC account and your own registration.
  • Don't use it to get around USC's sign-in, Duo, or any other security check, or to overload USC's or Google's services.
  • Follow USC's own policies on registration. USC has not reviewed or approved ClassAdd.

Your data

What ClassAdd does with data is described in the privacy policy. In short: it has no server and no accounts, and your plan stays on your computer.

Third-party data

Class information comes from USC's public class data. Professor ratings come from RateMyProfessors and are shown for information only. Names and marks belonging to USC, Google, and others are used only to describe what ClassAdd works with.

Changes and contact
